Nassau Community College’s Foundation Office will be awarding one scholarship to a deserving student from every high school in Nassau County enrolling to NCC in September of 2023. Eligible students must show a commitment to helping others in their school or community, and be an active leader within their school/local community. Annual scholarship awards range from $200-$2,000. High School Counselor(s) are to select TWO seniors that meet the criteria outlined below and email the completed scholarship application and essay to scholarships@ncc.edu with the subject ‘NCC Scholarship Application’ no later than May 2, 2023. Criteria for student applicant: 1. Be a 2023 graduate from a Nassau County High School 2. Applied to Nassau Community College for Fall 2023 3. Must be a Nassau Country resident 4. Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 85 of higher 5. Be enrolled as a full-time student (minimum of 12 credits) each semester at NCC 6. Complete the NASSAU COMMUNITY COLLEGE FOUNDATION EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP application and return the application and supporting documentation to scholarships@ncc.edu 7. Submit an essay (not to exceed two double-spaced typed pages) on one significant activity that shows evidence of leadership and demonstrates your commitment to the welfare of others in the community. Describe this activity and its impact on your life and the lives of others 8. Have a completed 2023-2024 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) on file with NCC by the June 1st deadline.
